Cozumel: (in Mayan language: Kosom, Lumil, Land of the swallows) is a Mexican island, the third largest and the second most populated in the country. It is located in eastern Mexico, in the Caribbean Sea, sixty-two kilometers from Cancun and constitutes (together with the continental enclaves Calica and Xel-Ha) one of the 11municipalities of the state of Quintana Roo. Located in the Mexican Caribbean, Cozumel is a flat island formed of limestone rock that comes from the reefs.
The most important natural elevation on the island is less than 13 meters above sea level. The cenotes formed by the filtration of water through the limestone for thousands of years can be explored by swimming or through activities such as snorkeling and diving; Different marine species can be appreciated.
The island measures about 48 km from north to south and 14.8 km from east to west, which makes it the third largest island in Mexico after Isla Tiburón in Sonora state and Isla Angel de la Isla in Baja California. Tulum: This archaeological site is located on the eastern coast of the state of Quintana Roo, in the region known as the Riviera Maya located on the coast 64 km south of Playa del Carmen. The city received in the antiquity the Mayan name of Zamá (that means in Mayan dawn) and the present one, Tulum (that means in Mayan wall), that seems to have been used to refer to the city when it was already in ruins.

The famous Fifth Avenue is the most visited street by national and foreign tourists. It covers about 4 kilometers long, from 1st street to 40th street. It is a very safe and busy pedestrian avenue, especially in the evenings and nights. Here most of the trade is concentrated, from craft and souvenir shops to restaurants, bars and nightclubs. From Constituyentes Avenue, the locals have named, in an extra official way, Fifth Avenue as the New Quinta; since it is the new part and bohemian atmosphere of this important tourist destination.
Playa del Carmen is located within the Mayan Riviera, which extends from the south of Cancun to Tulum and the biosphere reserve of Sian Ka'an. Playa is a stop for several cruises that dock at the nearby docks of Calica, about six kilometers south of the city. The Xcaret Eco Park, a Mexican-themed "eco-archaeological park," is a popular tourist attraction located just south of Xcaret Park.
